Family documentary sessions are different from lifestyle or candid photography. At its core, documentary photography does not interrupt, pose or direct but allows events to unfold naturally, capturing whatever happens, whenever it happens.
For the most part, that's what this lovely session is: documenting a normal evening in the life of a family of five while their extended family was in town visiting.
I love the way the sisters relate to one another, the way their older brother protects them, the way the momma was in the kitchen preparing a meal half the time I was there, the way the aunt and grandmother played the keyboard while the youngest sang- her sweet little voice filling the room.
